Hi there! I'm Lucas.

I have always been drawn to technology, from a young age, I was the "nerd" in my group of friends, spending most of my free time in a computer or playing video games. When it came time to choose a degree after high school, computer science was the natural choice for me.

Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as planned with my computer science degree. While I enjoyed the subject matter, the course ended up not being what I was expecting. After completing my sixth semester, I made the tough decision to switch to a different degree program that had a stronger focus on the job market.

A few months into my new degree, I landed my first internship at a Brazilian start-up, and seven months later, I was offered a second internship at Shopify in Canada. This was an incredible opportunity for me, as it allowed me to live abroad and gain valuable work experience at a global company. When my internship ended, I was offered a full-time position at Shopify. While I was thrilled at the opportunity, I had to make the decision to drop out of my degree again in order to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time software engineer. I ended up staying in Canada for 4 years before deciding to move back to my hometown, João Pessoa, where I am currently based.

In my spare time, you can find me travelling and exploring new places (especially beaches), watching movies and TV shows, or geeking around with some board games. I also enjoy coding and working on my side projects, and I am particularly interested in the intersection of UX and software engineering. I am passionate about creating beautiful applications and websites that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
